PROGRAM TITLE: HAIR DESIGN/BARBER
OBJECTIVE: To prepare the student to be employed at entry level in the barber-hair styling field along with to take and pass the state board examination. This course prepares a student to be employed as a salon owner, hairstylist, barber, hair colorist, or permanent wave specialist.
REQUIREMENTS: 1500 total clock hours in Arkansas. Students must be 17 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. Student to Instructor ratio is 20:1 in all theory and lab classes as required by Arkansas State Board of Barber Examiners.
PROGRAM TITLE: TEACHER/MANAGER/INSTRUCTOR
OBJECTIVE: To prepare the student to be employed at entry-level as an Instructor or Manager in a school or shop setting. In addition, students work firsthand on learning proper supervisory skills, enabling them to be more successful at managing a salon or being a shop manager. This program also qualifies student to become workshop conductors.
REQUIREMENTS: Hold an active Barber’s license in the State of Arkansas. Have one year’s practical experience.
